Tuik Ruch Lew/ Helping the Earth

Tuik Ruch Lew (TRL) is a grassroots Guatemalan non-profit with the mission to implement sustainable solutions to the environmental, health and well-being challenges that threaten the livelihood of the Maya and the other inhabitants that make up the population living in the Lake Atitlán basin. We envision a thriving Lake Atitlán basin free of air pollution, with forest biodiversity, clean water and empowered communities for a prosperous, sustainable and healthy life.

People with deafblindness live this reality and require professional services and specialized methods, not only for their education, but to be integrated and included in their communities.&nbsp;</p><p>However, in Guatemala, many of these children receive absolutely nothing of this. They live in a marginal situation, without the opportunity to interact with the world around them and bringing additional difficulties to their families, sometimes due to ignorance, lack of resources or bad information.

Talking about ADISA implies the effort of many people in the community who actively participated in its foundation. To do so, it is important to know the historical context in which its foundations were developed and the great achievement that the constitution of an Association that looks after the development of San Antonio Ilotenango and other communities in the west of the country represents for the community.
